Overview of the working session
Strengthening Collaboration to Deliver Practical Results
After listening to the discussions, Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh, President of VUSTA, acknowledged and commended the efforts of the Institute of Science and Innovation’s leadership and staff in building the organization, developing its workforce, and carrying out science and technology activities. He particularly praised their proactive efforts to expand cooperation and align research with practical needs.
President Chau Van Minh emphasized that, as Vietnam steps up the implementation of Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, science and technology organizations under VUSTA have significant opportunities for development. At the same time, they face the need to continue renewing their activities and operating methods and improving the quality and effectiveness of their contributions to society.
According to President Chau Van Minh, one of the key strengths of the VUSTA system is its extensive network of member associations, science and technology organizations, experts, and scientists across a wide range of fields. However, to make effective use of these resources, stronger collaboration and coordination among organizations are needed to overcome fragmented activities and create conditions for interdisciplinary research programs and projects with strong application potential.
Regarding the Institute of Science and Innovation, President Chau Van Minh called on the Institute to continue demonstrating initiative, dynamism, and creativity, while focusing on research and application areas that build on its strengths and meet the needs of businesses and society. He also stressed the importance of improving the quality of its staff and experts, expanding cooperation with national professional associations and science and technology organizations within the VUSTA system, and strengthening ties with research institutions, universities, and businesses.
President Chau Van Minh also noted that innovation must be linked to practical outcomes. The results of research application and technology transfer, together with the value generated for businesses and communities, should serve as key measures of the performance of science and technology organizations.
In addition, he called on VUSTA’s specialized departments to strengthen coordination and connections with the Institute and other affiliated science and technology organizations. He urged them to provide support and create opportunities for capable organizations to participate in suitable science and technology programs and projects, thereby making better use of the potential and strengths of the entire system.
