30 enterprises and localities recognized as Top Industry 4.0 in Vietnam 2024
On the afternoon of September 27, 2024, in Hanoi, the ceremony to honor the Top Industry 4.0 in Vietnam (Industry 4.0 Awards) was held for the third time. The event was organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) in cooperation with the Institute of Innovation and Digital Transformation and the Vietnam Automation Association.
Speaking at the ceremony, DSc. Phan Xuan Dung stated that the third Top Industry 4.0 in Vietnam has marked the outstanding achievements in the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Vietnam. This is an occasion to congratulate and recognize the efforts, creativity, and accomplishments of enterprises that contribute to advancing the country further in the digital era.

The President of VUSTA emphasized that the Party and the State pay special attention to actively participating in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0). The Politburo issued Resolution No. 52-NQ/TW on September 27, 2019, regarding several guidelines and policies for proactive participation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The Prime Minister approved Decision No. 749/QĐ-TTg, which outlines the National Digital Transformation Program by 2025, with a vision towards 2030, striving for Vietnam to become a digital nation, where digital transformation for enterprises plays a crucial role.
In order to continue implementing Resolution No. 52-NQ/TW and Decision No. 749/QĐ-TTg, the Top Industry 4.0 in Vietnam (I4.0 Awards) serves as a forum for enterprises to exchange, learn, and share experiences in building smart factories, digital factories, intelligent manufacturing, scientific research and technology, innovation, and enhancing productivity and quality of products as well as business management capabilities.
According to Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, October 10 not only marks a significant historical event, the Day of Liberation of the Capital, symbolizing the resilient spirit, solidarity, and aspiration for advancement of the nation, but it is also recognized as the Day of Digital Transformation in Vietnam. This day aims to raise awareness about the role of digital transformation in socio-economic development and encourages organizations, enterprises, and individuals to participate in the digital transformation process. This spirit has laid a solid foundation for the country's development, including in the fields of industry and technology.
Many artistic performances expressing love for the homeland were showcased during the ceremony.
In the context of a rapidly changing global landscape, Vietnam is not only an attractive destination for investment but also a center for innovation, with many enterprises leading the way in adopting new technologies. The recognition of the Top Industry 4.0 in Vietnam aims to evaluate the effectiveness of digital transformation and innovation in organizations and enterprises; to celebrate the development of manufacturing businesses, connecting supply and demand for digital technology solutions, and building and developing smart production; and to highlight exemplary successes in the development of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation within the public administration and business sectors.
At the same time, it promotes the application of information technology, digital technology, digital transformation, and innovation to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises and develop the digital economy; creating a platform for businesses to exchange and share experiences in building smart factories, smart production, scientific research and technology, innovation, improving product quality and productivity, and business management capabilities.
The program also aims to foster connections between state management agencies, the community of scientists, research institutes, universities, and businesses in supporting, advising, training, transferring technology, and developing the digital economy.
At the ceremony, President Phan Xuan Dung warmly praised and congratulated the enterprises, organizations, and localities that have made innovative contributions, useful solutions, and technologies applied in production and daily life, resulting in high economic efficiency.

The Top Industry 4.0 Vietnam 2024 is an annual program launched in 2022, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Information and Communications. In the 3rd Top Industry 4.0 Vietnam (Industry 4.0 Awards), the organizing committee selected 30 profiles in 4 categories: Top Industry 4.0 Enterprises in Vietnam; Top Organizations, Science and Technology Enterprises and Innovations; Top Enterprises with Smart Digital Products and Industry 4.0 Technological Solutions; Top Organizations and Localities Actively Implementing the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Digital Transformation. The selection council, composed of reputable scientists and experts with a high sense of responsibility, worked objectively and meticulously to select from 200 profiles submitted by participating organizations and enterprises.
24 enterprises with notable digital products and solutions were honored, including: Thanh Thanh Cong Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company, Siba High Technology Mechanical Group Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Export-Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company, Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company, and Herbalife Vietnam LLC.
At the same time, 6 provinces and cities were recognized by the Organizing Committee for their exemplary achievements in organizing and proactively implementing the initiatives of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the National Digital Transformation Program, including Binh Duong, Tra Vinh, Long An, Da Nang, Lang Son, and Thai Nguyen.
As part of the program, a scientific workshop titled "Digital Transformation and Green Transition in Industry 4.0" was also held. Vice President of VUSTA Pham Ngoc Linh and Dr. Nguyen Quan, former Central Party Committee member, former Minister of Science and Technology, and President of the Vietnam Automation Association co-chaired the workshop.

At the workshop, managers and businesses focused on discussing various topics such as: the direction for establishing standards and regulations for Industry 4.0 technologies; digital transformation and automation in industrial enterprises to promote green growth; orientation and development of cultural industries based on digital technology and innovation; and AI strategies for the development of digital enterprises (AI Transformation for Digital Enterprises).
Notably, regarding AI, many participants suggested that Vietnamese businesses need to take proactive steps in AI transformation and have clear strategies and suitable, long-term roadmaps; invest in developing AI human resources; collaborate with technology partners and research institutes; and participate in the national and regional AI ecosystem.
