Ben Tre: Workshop on current situation and solutions to promote circular economy

On February 23, 2023 the Union of Provincial Associations in collaboration with Vietnam Green Innovation Joint Stock Company and the Research and Development Institute of Circular Economy - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City organized the Workshop "The current situation and solutions to promote circular economy for socio-economic development in Ben Tre province”.

Mr. Le Duc Tho, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired the workshop; representatives of leaders of Dong Thap; An Giang; Bac Lieu; Soc Trang, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh; Can Tho; and Tien Giang Unions attended the workshop.

Director of the Institute for Research and Development of Circular Economy, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City – Mr. Nguyen Hong Quan presented on circular economy model (CEM), some related current policies in Vietnam and the potential of the economic model for several industries and fields in Ben Tre. For the presentation of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Mekong Delta Development Research Institute, Can Tho University, he emphasized opportunities, challenges and solutions to develop circular agriculture in the Mekong Delta.

The workshop participants also learned to practical reports on recirculating agriculture in Ben Tre, An Giang. Many comments and opinions from delegates requiring scientists to clarify more issues on the development of circular economy of our country in general and Ben Tre province in particular.

Speaking at the workshop, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Le Duc Tho highly appreciated the provincial Union has helped the leaders to cooperate with scientists to successfully organize this kind of workshop. In the near future, the Union needs to increase links with scientists in the region and the whole country to provide advise the province on overcoming difficulties in socio-economic development.
