Binh Thuan: Binh Thuan Tourism Association enhances its activities in 2024

On April 2, 2024, the Binh Thuan Tourism Association (a member of the Binh Thuan Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations) organized a conference to review the work of 2023 and implement action plans in 2024.

In 2023, Binh Thuan Tourism Association has approved admission of 17 new members, increased the total membership to 95. By the end of 2023, Binh Thuan Tourism Association had 115 corporate members (in various fields such as travel agencies, accommodation establishments, event organizers, restaurants, training institutions...) and 98 individual members (tour guides, chefs). On June 22, 2023, Binh Thuan Tourism Association Executive Committee held a meeting on the personnel of the associations. Accordingly, there are 17 members (including 10 Standing Committee members, 7 Members), and 1 Secretary-General in Binh Thuan Tourism Association Executive Committee.

Despite facing many difficulties and challenges such as slow economic growth, increasing inflation, and increasing evident climate change, in the past year, the association and its active members has performed its tasks through various events related to cultural, sports, and tourism industry in the province. In addition, it has conducted introduction programs associated with communications about the National Tourism Year 2023 in order to attract tourists as well as participated in the conference "Journey of Sea and Flowers" connecting Lam Dong - Binh Thuan and signing cooperation programs for cultural, sports, and tourism development between Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan provinces for the period 2023-2025. Notably, the workshop "Promoting Tourism in India - Coastal Provinces of Vietnam" was successfully organized. Taking advantages of Dau Day - Phan Thiet expressway and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet, the tourism industry of the province contributed to the total tourism revenue with over 8.35 million tourists, reaching a total revenue of 22.3 trillion VND (tourism GRDP reached 9.75 trillion VND, accounting for 9.11% of the province's total GRDP) and being one of the top 10 provinces and cities with the highest tourism revenue nationwide. At the same time, focusing on overcoming difficulties, upgrading, renovating, fully equipping infrastructure, facilities, and enhancing training to improve the quality of human resources and tourism products, ready to ensure safety, quality, and efficient reception of tourists.

Additionally, the association and its members cooperate with tourism business community in participating in green growth actions in Binh Thuan for the period 2021-2030: Responding to the province's total environmental sanitation campaign; Responding to the call of the Provincial People's Committee and localities to participate in environmental sanitation; Responding to the "Clean Up Day Campaign" launched by Binh Thuan Tourism Association periodically on the first Thursday of each month or within the month; Implementing the Binh Thuan plastic waste management project; Organizing and accompanying activities and events of the National Tourism Year.

In the coming time, the association and its members will strive to train and improve professional skills for workers to meet both short-term and long-term requirements. Collaborating with the Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center to organize training courses funded by the state budget. Strengthening close coordination among three parties: association - training institutions - enterprises. With the goal of welcoming over 9.5 million visitors (of which international visitors are 320,000) with a total revenue of over 25,000 billion VND, the association and its members will coordinate and implement various comprehensive promotional activities, with diverse and highly effective forms. In addition, focusing on the admission of new members which are large enterprises and tourism conglomerates, striving to achieve 150 members. Actively connecting the business community, responding to humanitarian campaigns, social security for the province, building safe, friendly destinations, contributing to turning Phan Thiet into a green tourist city (certified by the ASIAN Tourism Council) and Binh Thuan into a leading tourism destination in the Asia-Pacific region.

On March 10th 2026, in Hanoi, the French Embassy in Vietnam held a ceremony to confer the rank of Knight of the National Order of Merit on Mrs. Khuat Thi Hai Oanh, Executive Director of SCDI center - a Science and Technology organization affiliated with VUSTA. Vice President Pham Ngoc Linh attended the ceremony and presented flowers to extend congratulations to Mrs. Khuat Thi Hai Oanh.

Dissemination of new provisions in Laws and Decrees

On December 17, in Ho Chi Minh City, VUSTA, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, the Center for Quality Certification and Enterprise Development, and Vira Group Joint Stock Company, organized the scientific workshop “Solutions to Promote the Application of AI in Energy Managemenand Efficient Energy Use to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions.”
