Ha Tinh: Launching the campaign to make the world cleaner

In response to the campaign to make the world cleaner and raise public awareness to contribute to environmental protection, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) has coordinated with the Ha Tinh Union of Science and Technology Associations held a meeting with the theme "Together to change the world".

The ceremony welcomed attendance of leaders of departments, agencies, mass organizations of Ha Tinh province, Thach Ha District People's Committee and more than 300 teachers and students of Nguyen Trung Thien High School and unions in Thach Hai commune (Thach Ha district).

At the ceremony, the participants, students and people were conveyed messages regarding environmental protection, listened to a symposium on propaganda about the harmful effects of plastic waste and the response of Ha Tinh youth. Especially after the launching ceremony of the delegates, students participated in cleaning more than 2km of village roads and cleaning the yard of Nguyen Trung Thien High School, collecting garbage and sorting garbage.

Deputy General Secretary, Head of Department of Science, Technology and Environment of Vietnam Union – Mr. Le Cong Luong said that this is an extremely meaningful activity to spread the awareness of environmental protection and send messages to the people, students towards “Working together to change the world”.

It is known that the campaign to make the world cleaner is initiated by Australia, launched globally by the United Nations Environment Program since 1993 (held periodically on the 3rd week of September every year). The event has grown into an important annual international environmental event, attracting the participation of hundreds of countries. For Ha Tinh, the locality has actively responded to the campaign to organize many activities towards environmental protection and sustainable development.

VUSTA delegation engages with Japanese science and technology partners
