Lao Cai: Award Ceremony on the 17th Innovation Contest for Youth and Children

Despite being a highland and border province, its socio-economic conditions are still difficult, in recent years, the propaganda and organization of the Innovation Contest for Youth and Children implemented by Lao Cai provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations has achieved a number of impressive results.

Up to now, the Innovation Contest for Youth and Children in Lao Cai province has been held continuously for 17 consecutive years. After 17 editions, the contest has received 1200 projects submitted by nearly 2,000 students in the province participating in the contest, of which more than 400 projects have been awarded provincial-level prizes. Lao Cai province has participated in the National Innovation Contest for Youth and Children for 17 editions and had 46 winning projects, including 2 special prizes, 4 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 13 third prizes and 21 consolation prizes.

The Innovation Contest for Youth and Children in Lao Cai province this year has received 75 products submitted by students from all districts, cities and towns in the province, in general, the participating projects are diverse in ideas, intensive in content, having aesthetic technology and high applicability, including 10 projects in the field of school supplies; 04 projects in the field of informatics software; 07 projects of environmentally friendly products; 10 projects in the field of household appliances and children's toys; 07 projects in the group of solutions to respond to climate change, environmental protection and economic development. Basing on the objective and accurate assessment of the Jury Council, the Organizing Committee came to conclusion of awarding 38 best projects at the provincial-level contest including 12 Consolation prizes; 13 Third prizes; 08 Second prizes; and 05 First prizes.

Summarizing the Contest, the Organizing Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 05 teams and 05 individuals with outstanding achievements in the propaganda and organization of the Contest. Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union decided to award Certificates of Merit to 04 students who won Consolation prizes at the National Contest; Students who won First, Second and Third prizes at this year's National Contest will also be recommended by the Organizing Committee to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to award prizes according to regulations. In addition, all students who won prizes at the National Innovation Contest for Youth and Children, and disadvantaged students with the spirit of overcoming difficulties in studying and participating in the Contest were also awarded. The Study Promotion Association, Provincial Youth Union, Lao Cai Newspaper, Provincial Radio and Television Station awarded prizes to encourage and motivate the children and youth generation. On this occasion, the Organizing Committee commended and rewarded the author groups of 04 winning projects at the 18th National Innovation Contest for Youth and Children in 2022, including: 01 Consolation prize; 01 Third prize; 01 Second prize; and 01 First prize.

With the continuous high achievements at the National Innovation Contest for Youth and Children, the contest has become a source of inspiration and strong motivation among the students of Lao Cai province, attracting the children and youth generation to attend oncoming contests.
