Meeting of Vusta Leaders, VEEA and EVN

On March 12, in Hanoi, VUSTA Leaders had a working session with the Vietnam Electrical Engineering Association (VEEA) and Vietnam Electricity (EVN).

Participating in the working session were VUSTA Chairman Phan Xuan Dung, General Secretary Nguyen Quyet Chien, and representatives of VUSTA departments. On the side of EVN, there were General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan and representatives of leaders of EVN departments and divisions.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Vietnam Electrical Engineering Association, Vice President and General Secretary Mai Quoc Hoi said: In recent years, VEEA has been focused on carrying out professional tasks such as communication, disseminating knowledge, consulting and evaluating, scientific research, technology development, international cooperation. All of these are implemented very effectively in a synchronized manner.

In particular, the Association carries out high-quality and timely consultation workshops on projects and legal documents of State agencies such as amending and supplementing the  Electricity Law, decrees, circulars, strategy, planning, and reporting to competent authorities. Capitalizing on 'Điện và Đời sống' Journal's strength, the Association has organized many propaganda activities to disseminate policies and laws of state management agencies related to the electricity industry as well as knowledge on the effective and economical use of electricity for production units and people.

As a member of VEEA, EVN has been closely coordinating with VEEA in exchanging and making recommendations on policy mechanisms of the electricity industry. This includes coordinated research and comments, providing recommendations for projects and legal documents of state agencies, as well as proposing mechanisms and policies related to electricity prices, electricity market development, electricity demand management, developing renewable energy sources, and smart power grid management and development. This was stated by Vice President and General Secretary Mai Quoc Hoi.

At the meeting, VEEA Chairman Duong Quang Thanh expressed the desire for VEEA to have information to support the association's activities, especially for members who have working relationships with EVN. VEEA suggested that EVN provide documents and data related to EVN's activities (except for classified documents) such as operational plans, construction investment plans for the year, and payment regulations for electricity.

Regarding scientific and technological research and environmental issues, the leaders of VEEA proposed that EVN assign VEEA to implement programs, research plans, propose projects, and topics related to energy audits, energy conservation, and the application of new technologies. Additionally, they suggested topics related to economic and financial management innovation within EVN. Specific programs and research topics will be listed by EVN and VEEA, tailored to EVN's necessary objectives for each year and specific periods.

On behalf of VUSTA leadership, Chairman Phan Xuan Dung emphasized the important role of VEEA within the Association's system. VEEA, as one of the member associations of VUSTA, has excelled in mobilizing and uniting intellectual resources, conducting scientific research, disseminating knowledge, and providing critical advice and social expertise.

Chairman Phan Xuan Dung affirmed that in the future, VUSTA will continue to have close cooperation with VEEA and EVN in consulting and reviewing legal documents, plans, and major projects of the electricity industry, exchanging and making recommendations on mechanisms and policies of the industry with competent authorities. The President expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the leadership of EVN and VEEA towards the VUSTA delegation.

To celebrate World Environment Day (June 5th), VUSTA and the Center for People and Nature (PanNature) coordinated with the local authority to hold a launching ceremony for the 2024 Green Forest Program on the morning of June 2nd (2024). The program aims to restore 10 hectares of forest in Van Ho (Son La) and 15 in Hang Kia - Pa Co Nature Reserve.
