Quang Tri: Training on prevention and fight against African swine fever

On September 6th, training course on prevention and fight against African swine fever and lumpy skin disease in buffaloes and cows was organized under the cooperation between the Quang Tri Union of Science and Technology Associations and the Quang Tri Veterinary Association.

Overview of the training conference

The training course attracted 60 trainees from Dong Hoi, Dong Son, Dong Thuan, Bo Trach, Quang Ninh, Nam Trach, Phong Nha communes within Quang Tri province who are farming households raising pig, buffalo, cow and farm owners.

At the training course, the delegates are informed about the current situation of the African swine fever and the lumpy skin disease on buffaloes and cows in Vietnam in general and in Quang Tri province in specific by leaders of Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine.

The participants are provided with knowledge about the African swine fever and the lumpy skin disease on buffaloes and cows, including causes, symptoms, reasons of spreading and consequences; provided with practice skills to prevent and control the disease; guided on measure to control the disease efficiently; cooperation and coordination with agencies, organizations and community in preventing and controlling the disease; alleviation of economic and social loss caused by the disease and human, animal and environment safety assurance….

Training classes are designed in order to further enhance capacity and efficiency in prevention and control over the African swine fever and lumpy skin disease in buffaloes and cows for pig, buffalo, cow farming households, owners of farms, household farms and officers in charge of veterinary work in wards and communes.
