Overview of the launch ceremony

At the launch event, the Organizing Committee announced that this year’s awards will comprise five categories: outstanding digital transformation in government agencies; outstanding digital transformation in enterprises and public service units; outstanding digital technology products, services and solutions; digital transformation solutions for the community; and individual honors.

According to Nguyen Ba Kien, Editor-in-Chief of VietTimes and Head of the Organizing Committee, this year’s evaluation criteria are designed with a more in-depth, category-specific approach, emphasizing outcomes while prioritizing data connectivity, data sharing, and digital ecosystem development, which are key factors in driving substantive and sustainable digital transformation.

A notable new feature is the introduction of a comprehensive assessment of digital transformation maturity, covering key dimensions such as digital infrastructure, data, technology platforms, governance, and information security. This approach helps clearly distinguish between isolated technology adoption and holistic, system-wide digital transformation.

In particular, for the category of outstanding digital transformation in government agencies, the awards, for the first time, emphasize the ability to integrate with and connect to national databases and digital platforms as a critical criterion. This is considered essential to ensuring interoperability, avoiding data fragmentation, and enabling seamless digital services for citizens and businesses.

Also at the event, Nguyen Minh Hong, President of the Vietnam Digital Communications Association, stressed that substantive digital transformation must involve comprehensive restructuring, from governance models and operational processes to value creation. It is not merely about adopting technology, but about transforming mindsets, approaches, and resource organization. More importantly, digital transformation should be measured by tangible outcomes, including labor productivity, management efficiency, service quality, and the value delivered to citizens and businesses.

In this context, the Vietnam Digital Awards 2026, positioned as a tool to promote in-depth digital transformation in Vietnam, will prioritize recognizing models that deliver measurable results and tangible economic value. Data is identified as the central element and a strategic asset for organizations and enterprises in the digital era.

Submissions for the Vietnam Digital Awards 2026 are open online from April 22 to July 15, 2026, via vda.com.vn. Following the preliminary and final rounds, the most outstanding organizations, products, and individuals will be honored at the awards ceremony scheduled for October 2026.
