President of VUSTA Phan Xuan Dung leads Vietnamese delegation to attend Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF 2025)
From December 3 - 7, the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF 2025) was organized in the capital city of Seoul, South Korea.
At the invitation of the Korean Invention Promotion Association (KIPA), the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Innovation in Technology (VIFOTEC) sent a delegation to attend the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF 2025) led by Dr. Sc Phan Xuan Dung, President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology, President of the VIFOTEC fund.
SIIF 2025 was attended by more than 20 countries and territorial areas, exhibited roughly 500 science and technology projects and inventions of international research organizations, businesses and inventors. This world’s biggest exhibition in terms of invention was organized in cooperation between the Korean Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) and Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), the World International Property Organization (WIPO), the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and ministries, branches and career organizations of South Korea annually.
The exhibition was not only a place to exhibit ideas and advanced creative products but also to connect inventors and investors, science researchers and the market. At the exhibition, science projects can be seen by top experts in the field of intellectual property, inventors can be counselled on the international certificate award procedure and technology transferring. Therefore, it opens new opportunities for inventors to commercialize their projects. This is an ideal place for states to affirm their innovation capacity on a global scale.
The Vietnamese delegation led by President of VUSTA Phan Xuan Dung attended SIIF 2025
The Vietnamese delegation attending the SIIF 2025 introduced 06 excellent projects in sectors: Mechanical Automation, Environmental Protection, Information Technology, Materials Technology, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Overall achievements of the delegation were: 1 gold Grand Prize, 1 special prize for the most excellent project, 1 special prize for the most excellent inventor, 3 silver medals and awards for international organizations from the first Institute of Inventors and Researchers of Iran, the Malaysian Association of Research Scientists (MARS), the University of King Abdulaziz - Arab Saudi and the Indonesian Innovation and Invention Promotion Association (INNOPA) granted to best projects of the Vietnamese delegation. The projects of the Vietnamese delegation were highly appreciated by the judging panel on its applicability and commercial potential.
During the exhibition, President of VUSTA Phan Xuan Dung and the delegation participated in many meaningful activities, interacting, connecting and exchanging experience with international organizations. President of VUSTA Phan Xuan Dung accompanied and encouraged research groups while working with representatives of international organizations, experts in the field of intellectual property and innovation.
The delegation’s attendance in SIIF 2025 affirmed the role of the VIFOTEC fund and the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology in supporting, promoting the activities of technical creativity while contributing to promoting the image of Vietnamese science and technology to the region and the world. The achievements gained by the Vietnamese delegation at the exhibition are the result of a serious working process to select high - quality projects with the support of the delegation’s leader.
Through the exhibition, Vietnamese research groups and businesses have many opportunities to cooperate in researching, technology transferring and commercializing inventions. This is an important foundation for science projects to step out of laboratories or awards and come to real life, serving the development of socio-economy and enhancing the quality of life of citizens./.
