VUSTA hosted a meeting about artificial intelligence in the digital era in Vietnam
January 5, a working session between Vietnamese and American experts on artificial intelligence world society in the digital era in Vietnam was organized by VUSTA.
The meeting was co - chaired by Vice President of VUSTA Pham Ngoc Linh and CEO of Boston Global Forum Nguyen Tuan Anh.

Overview of the working session
Giving his opening remarks, Vice President of VUSTA Pham Ngoc Linh welcomed the expert delegation to visit and have a working session at the headquarters of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA). He reminded about the discussion points at an event hosted in London in October 2025. Vice President of VUSTA Pham Ngoc Linh said, Vietnam does pay attention and wants to learn specialized analysis from foreign experts on current issues relating to operational requirements for the AI World Society, management and exploitation of digital assets as well as the AI industry development strategy of Vietnam. These are important factors for Vietnam to seize opportunities to integrate and thrive in the new era.

On this basis, VUSTA suggested organizing specialized science forums on AI in Vietnam. The plan is expected to be implemented in 2026, with the participation and support from foreign experts. The forums’ aims to gather domestic and oversea experts and to collect share ideas in terms of policy making. Beside that, VUSTA expressed a desire to promote cooperation with experts in the field of publishing, through the Tri Thuc Publishing House (under VUSTA), to introduce valuable scientific publications. The publications are expected to be introduced at Tinhoa.ai - a platform developed by the Boston Global Forum (BGF) in coordination with the Tri Thuc Publishing House which was officially launched in last December.

Dr. Glen Weyl, Founder of the Plurality Institute, PhD in economics from the University of Princeton, United States and Prof. Alisha Caroline Holland, Director of the Graduate Programme in Government at the University of Harvard shared a pool information relating to the 24/7 AIWS governance; digital assets according to the AIWS - DASI standards; artificial intelligence in the digital era to Vietnamese experts and scientists.
During the discussion, delegates of VUSTA frankly exchanged information and spoke highly of international experience of applying AI in governance, especially models promoting the participation of the citizens, contributing to enhancing social management efficiency. The delegates agreed that AI needs to be used as a tool that facilitates the decision making process and connects ministries, sectors and professional units instead of ultimately replacing humans in the administrative system.

At the end of the working session, Vice President of VUSTA Pham Ngoc Linh emphasized that in the context that Vietnam considers AI to be a great goal programme, developing legal framework and high - quality human resources and ensuring technological sovereignty are essential requirements. VUSTA will continue to uphold the role of an organization in charge of gathering scientists, providing advice, social criticising, scientific arguments, assisting management units in making decisions, especially regarding issues of public investment, urban development planning and international integration. Vice President Pham Ngoc Linh said the two sides will specify exchanged topics through practical cooperation programmes in the time to come while hoping to promote cooperation in research, training and science publishing between VUSTA and international partner experts, making AI an efficient tool for national governance and sustainable development.
