The 40th Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations
The 40th Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO 40) will be held at Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 5th – 10th December 2022.
Vietnam delegation participating in CAFEO40
Board of Engineers Cambodia (BEC), AFEO 2022 chairmanship, is hosting the 40th edition of CAFEO under the theme “The Changing Roles of Engineers in Industry 4.0 Era”. The conference expects to attract the participation of nearly 1200 engineers, technical experts, delegates… from 10 ASEAN countries and its counterpartners Republic of Korea, China, India, Australia…
Sub themes of the CAFEO40 including: Challenges and opportunity of engineer in Industry 4.0 era; Artificial Intelligence for Life Circle Engineering; Resillience and sustainability-oriented engineering methodology; Life circle design, design for environment/sustainability; Solution and standards for the digital transformation, internet-of-things, and smart factories.
Participants benefit from information and knowledge shared through the conference and seminars. In addition, engineers and technical experts have change to exchange and discuss on ASEAN Engineering Inspectorate (AEI) boiler, metallurgical manufacturing services, civil electrical engineering, natural disaster preparedness, energy, environment engineering, sustainable cities, transportation and logistics, mobility engineers, education and capacity building, woman engineers and young engineers…
CAFEO is recognized as annual festival engaging the community of engineers and technical experts in the region and an opportunity for business matching; sharing knowledge, know how; promoting enterprises’ images and business and outstanding individuals in ASEAN engineering community.
The conference is expected to welcome Ir. Samdech Hunsen, Cambodian Prime Minister, honorary President of the BEC and HE Dr. Ith Samheng, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training and Chairman of the BEC attend and give opening remarks of CAFEO40.
- Nguyen Quyet Chien, VUSTA’s Secrectary General, leads VUSTA’s delegation to attend CAFEO40. VUSTA’s attendees include 20 delegates from VUSTA’s headquarter, professional associations and engineers of Vietnam Electricity Corporation – South Power Company will participate in professional activities as well as conferment ceremony for ASEAN registered engineers.
In 2022, AFEO approved 207 Vietnamese engineers as ASEAN professional engineers, of which 98 percent are working for electrical industry. Total 552 Vietnamese engineers granted ASEAN professional engineer certificate since VUSTA officially became member of AFEO in 1998.
