Promoting International Cooperation on Science Popularization for Green Growth
On November 21, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) organized a seminar aimed to promote international cooperation on science popularization for green growth and sustainable development.

Addressing the opening, VUSTA President Phan Xuan Dung emphasized that promoting science and technology (S&T) is an inevitable trend and a crucial element for any country's socio-economic development.
The Vietnam Communist Party and the government have consistently prioritized science and technology as a key national policy. They view it as a strategic breakthrough and a vital driving force for developing a modern workforce. This focus aims to innovate the growth model and enhance the productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness of the national economy, as well as of localities and businesses.

Dr. Phan Xuan Dung noted that VUSTA has achieved impressive and commendable results over the years in disseminating scientific and technological knowledge across various fields. VUSTA has organized knowledge popularization activities in a variety of formats, helping the community to apply science and technology effectively.
VUSTA organizes various prestigious and high-quality science and technology innovation competitions for young people to help them participate in international arenas. According to Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, initiatives aimed at promoting scientific and technological knowledge have greatly enhanced production capacity and quality. These efforts are essential for developing the socio-economy, fostering green growth, protecting the environment, and adapting to climate change.
Currently, VUSTA is an official member of the International Science Council (ISC) and the ASEAN Federation of Engineers (AFEO). It is also part of the Preparatory Committee for the establishment of the World Organization for Science Literacy (WOSL), a body initiated by the Chinese Science and Technology Association.
Furthermore, VUSTA collaborates with numerous domestic and international partners. These partners share a common mission to promote information exchange and cooperation in popularizing scientific, technological, and technical knowledge at both regional and global levels, fostering open, effective, and responsible scientific practices.

Dr Phan Xuan Dung anticipated that, through the contributions of speakers and scientists from both domestic and international backgrounds, the seminar would highlight the significance of popularizing scientific and technological knowledge concerning environmental protection and green growth. The seminar also showcased international experiences and practical, effective models of knowledge popularization across various fields. It aims to foster collaboration opportunities between VUSTA and international partners and stakeholders. Through this seminar, VUSTA aimed to develop solutions and initiatives that enhance the quality and effectiveness of disseminating scientific and technological knowledge to support the objectives of sustainable development.

During the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Canh Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alpha Books, Director of the ABG Leadership Institute, and Permanent Vice President of VAPEC, emphasized the importance of scientific knowledge in cultivating scientifically minded individuals. He stated, "Only with scientific people can we establish a solid scientific foundation." Mr. Binh highlighted that children need to be exposed to engaging, modern, and accessible knowledge to develop scientifically.
At the workshop, delegates from both domestic and international backgrounds presented papers on several topics, including The Practice of Leveraging Science Popularization to Empower the Chinese Path to Modernization; Opportunities for Funding and Collaborative Partnerships in Research & Innovation; Empowering Women: Strategies for STEM Literacy and Community Engagement.

Additionally, the seminar promoted opportunities for collaboration between VUSTA and international partners and stakeholders.
