At the meeting, representatives of member associations also introduced the history of establishment, fields of research expertise, past achievements of member associations; difficulties in the operation of the associations as well as implementation plans in the coming time.

The Economic, Environmental and Climate Change Science Division is the first one to organize a meeting to discuss the implementation of the goals assigned by VUSTA leaders and develop an emulation plan in the future.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Quyet Chien - General Secretary of VUSTA shared: VUSTA is the common home of more than 3.7 million members and 2.2 million intellectuals. The formation of emulation blocks and clusters comes from two sides. From the side of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Party and State leaders see that VUSTA needs to be more focused on activities of the Party's leadership and direction towards the Union as well as member organizations and affiliated units.

Meanwhile member associations have over the years have suggested that VUSTA need to facilitate an enabling environment for associations in the same sector, and associations in close proximity to one another to have the opportunity to exchange, share and cooperate in fulfilling political tasks and professional research.

To meet the above requirements, since the beginning of the VIII term, the VUSTA Party leadership has paid great attention to this issue. By the end of 2021, VUSTA preliminarily formed members in emulation blocks and clusters. Through specific activities of the emulation clusters and blocks, there are many professional activities for associations to connect and cooperate with for development. Currently, there are regulations on operation for emulation blocks and clusters. In the coming time we need to complete the criteria for evaluating emulation by blocks to organize an annual emulation vote.

"After VUSTA established national emulation clusters and industry associations, Mr. Truong Manh Tien was one of the first to organize and launch emulation activities of the sector he was in charge of. In response to the enthusiastic speeches of industry associations in the Division, I also suggested that participants should form a group's social network to facilitate the exchange of content within the Division, propose rotational meetings, and coordinate activities: professional activities, critical questioning, scientific research, etc. If we can do these things, the activities of the Division will be very exciting. These are just initial ideas. More opinion will come up in the operation process" said Mr. Nguyen Quyet Chien.
