CSD implements the project “Developing a model of friendship-friendly schools” in Bac Giang and Tuyen Quang

The project “Developing a model of friendship-friendly schools” implemented by Research and Communication Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD) funded by the Asian Education and Friendship Association (AEFA), Japan.

The project's goal is to support the construction and renovation of classrooms and libraries of some schools in Bac Giang and Tuyen Quang. The project was approved by VUSTA in decision number 505/QĐ-LHHVN dated June 13, 2024.

Project implementation duration is 18 months with expected results:

  • Constructing new rooms for teachers and new classrooms for students for Dong Mam School, Son Hai Primary School in Son Hai, Luc Ngan, Bac Giang and Trung Minh secondary and high school, Trung Minh, Yen Son, Tuyen Quang;
  • Constructing libraries and supporting organizing activities to strengthen reading culture for students and teachers at Ban Ven School, Xuan Luong Primary School, Xuan Luong, Yen The, Bac Giang and Ban Ven School, Van Phu Primary school, Van Phu, Son Duong, Tuyen Quang;
  • Promoting programs supporting school supplies and learning equipment for schools within the project.

The Center for Capacity Building, Support for Women and Children (CSWC) shared the outcomes of the Project
On March 28, 2025, CSWC , in collaboration with Planète Enfants & Développement (PE&D), organized the closing conference of the project “Joining hands to support the prevention system of children trafficking in Southern and Central Vietnam”. The project was approved and overseen by VUSTA, and implemented from 2022 to 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City and Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province.

Assessment of the current situation and proposed solutions to mitigate the impacts of open burning in Vietnam
Despite 68% of surveyed individuals expressing environmental awareness and 80% acknowledging health concerns, a significant portion still plans to continue "field burning" (open burning in agriculture). The primary justification lies in the perception that it is effective, fast, and inexpensive. This highlights the urgent need for targeted communication strategies to alter such practices.
