On November 8, 2023, the World Engineers Summit 2023 (WES 2023) opened at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Since 2013, this is the 6th time that WES has been organized. WES is considered the highest-level forum for the community of engineers, and technical and technology experts worldwide to discuss innovative methods to develop a sustainable future.

The main topic of the 6th WES was "Engineering for a Sustainable Future". Nearly 1000 delegates, including leaders, specialists, representatives of corporations, and scientists from around the world participated in the discussion to find solutions to the problems posed by climate change and urbanization, which have led to serious carbon emissions.

WES 2023 had the attendance of Teo Chee Hean - Singapore's Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security. In his speech, Mr. Teo emphasized the important role of engineers in the socioeconomic recovery process after the COVID-19 pandemic. WES 2023 was also considered a highlight of the IES Green Plan 2023, playing a crucial part in developing a sustainable future for Singapore.
