Phu Yen: Launching to response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day

On the morning of March 15, at Co.op Mart Tuy Hoa supermarket, the Consumer Rights Protection Association of Phu Yen province in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade held a launching ceremony in response to Vietnam's Consumer Rights Day March 15, 2023 and activities of connecting and consuming typical products, OCOP products of the province with consumers.

Representatives attending the launching ceremony were Ms. Ho Thi Nguyen Thao - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, agencies and branches in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade suggested that state agencies and administrations strengthen supervision and market inspection activities, handle consumer complaints, promote commnication program on consumer rights; strengthen support for businesses to connect supply and demand toward a stable market, promote and introduce products. Enterprises should build effective tools to ensure consumers' interests, focus on promoting sustainable production and business. The Consumer Protection Association continues to develop effective programs, and continues to expand consumer information and guidance activities at the shopping mall.

Ms. To Thi Hoa - Chairwoman of the Provincial Consumer Protection Association said: Responding to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day 2023 with the theme "Transparent information - Safe consumption" and continuing to implement activities to respond to Vietnam Consumers' Rights Day 2023 as well as the action plan on consumer protection in Phu Yen province in 2023, Department of Industry and Trade and the Provincial Consumer Protection Association will carry out a number of specific activities such as promoting the communication program of the Law on Consumer Protection and Management and activities on the work of consumer protection and management on the mass media to raise awareness of the responsibilities of state management agencies, organizations, individuals and the community on the protection of consumer management. Coordinate with localities, mass organizations, schools in the province to organize training courses to broadcast the Law on Consumer Protection and Management, consumer counseling, improve knowledge about food safety for consumers, continue responding to the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritise using Vietnamese goods" in the new normal period to vulnerable people such as the elderly, people with disabilities, pupils, students, people living in mountainous areas... strengthen communication program on consumer rights and obligations, consulting, advising on consumption and food safety for consumers at grade 2 and 3 markets in the province, proving advice, support, and timely handle consumer’s complaints upon request.

At the ceremony, the Chairman of the Consumer Protection Association, the Director of the Co-op mart Supermarket, and the Director of the Dong Din Hamlet Cooperative also signed a commitment to provide consumers with guaranteed product, stability, quality.

After the launching ceremony, more than 100 youths marched to to Consumer Rights Day 2023.
