VUSTA leaders participate in AM-21 conference

Johor Bahru – Malaysia - August 28, 2022. Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, Secretary of the Party Union, member of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) led a delegation to attend the 21st Midterm Review Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (AM-21).

The AM-21, hosted by the Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), was an in-person conference held in Johor Bahru from August 25 to 28, 2022 with 500 delegates including managers, engineers and technicians, members and businesses in the ASEAN region after 2 years of online gatherings.

This is an opportunity for participants from 10 member organizations to attend the AM-21 Conference to discuss the work of gathering, supporting and promoting the role of engineers, proposing technical solutions and initiatives, research cooperation, which makes significant contributions to the formation and development of the ASEAN community.

Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, Secretary of the Party Union, Member of the National Assembly, President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, led a delegation to attend important activities such as business exchanges and connectivity, conferences, plenary sessions, meetings of the Executive Council and professional committees, working groups, technical seminars with the topic of technical solutions for sustainable development.

At the meeting of the AFEO Executive Council, the highest management mechanism of the Federation, participants highly appreciated the efforts of VUSTA as the focal point of the ASEAN Engineer Registration Council of Vietnam, in promoting the role and improving the qualifications of the Vietnamese engineering force to meet regional and international standards. In his speech, Dr. Phan Xuan Dung affirmed that VUSTA will register for nearly 200 Vietnamese engineers to get the title of ASEAN professional engineer (AER) in 2022.
