VUSTA worked with Center for research on initiatives of community development

The working session aimed to improve efficiency in VUSTA’s management of the affiliated science and technology organizations in accordance with State’s regulations.

On August 29th, VUSTA established the multi-agencies supervision delegation to monitor the implementation of foreign aid projects of the RIC in Van Ho, Son La Province.

The supervision delegation was leaded by VUSTA’s Vice President - Pham Ngoc Linh, representatives of Foreign Economic Relations Department, Ministry of Planning and Investment; Department of Internal Political Protection, Ministry of Public Security; Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Department of International Cooperation and Office, VUSTA. Representatives of the Son La’s Department of Public Security, Ethnic Committee, Farmers' Association, Van Ho District People's Committee and communes also attended the working session with the supervision delegation.

In recent years, RIC has carried out research projects on the following models: construction, management, operation and maintenance of small-scale infrastructure projects implemented by the community; Community-based sustainable forest management, protection and development; Developing forest-based livelihood models which adapting to climate change; Developing a sustainable agricultural model towards commodity production and value chains,...with about 1,100 sub-projects/initiatives to improve the living conditions of 135,000 people (of which nearly 50% are women, 35 % are poor or ethnic minorities); About 1,200 hectares of forest are protected and developed by community to improve living conditions and income. In Van Ho district, RIC is implementing the project "Improving living conditions for ethnic minority communities" in Chieng Yen, Chieng Xuan, Song Khua and Suoi Bang, from July 2022 to June 2025. The project is sponsored by the Bread for the World Foundation (BfdW), aiming to improve the living conditions of the 4 communes through the application of community-based models and methods; developing community-managed models, operate and maintain infrastructure projects towards sustainable development in Van Ho.

Supervision delegation visited the canals system serving production

On behalf of the supervision delegation, Vice President of VUSTA Pham Ngoc Linh highly appreciated the achievements of RIC in last years, especially in developing the effective cooperation with the People's Committee of Van Ho district, Son La province. Vice Chairman Pham Ngoc Linh requested the authorities of Son La province and Van Ho district to coordinate and support the RIC in the current project. The Vice President also requested the RIC to urgently implement the project on schedule and in accordance with regulations, coordinate closely with localities to successfully deploy the projects. Regarding the recommendations about the RIC, VUSTA will consider and direct relevant departments to handle them.

On this occasion, the supervision delegation also participated in planting trees and examining models support people to develop their livelihoods in the area.

VUSTA delegation engages with Japanese science and technology partners

VUSTA Held Meeting with Delegation from the Beijing Association for Science and Technology

Boosting ASEAN Professional Engineer Registration in Vietnam
On the morning of April 29, 2025, VUSTA in coordination with the Hai Phong City Union of Science and Technology Associations, held a scientific workshop titled "Advancing the Registration of ASEAN Professional Engineers in Vietnam".
