VUSTA’s approval of the project “In Search of Vietnam Pheasant Lophura edwardsi in the wild”
On August 13, 2021, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA) has approved the project of “In Search of Vietnam Pheasant Lophura edwardsi in the wild” owned by Viet Nature Conservation Centre, a scientific and technological organization under VUSTA.
The project is funded by Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS), will be implemented at Ke Go Nature Reserve, Ha Tinh provicne from August 2021 to May 2022.

Goals and objectives of the project: The goal of this project is to determine the presence/absence of the surviving populations of the Vietnam Pheasant in the wild within Ke Go Nature Reserve, contributing to site assessment, identification and preparation for potential species reintroduction.
Expected outcomes of project: Provide reliable up-to-date information on the status and distribution of remaining wild populations of Vietnam Pheasant, if any, at; and Obtain systematic data on habitat characteristics (vegetation structure, aspect, slope, altitude, dominant plant species, and evidence of human disturbance) and current human and non-human threats (natural disasters such as storms, forest fires within Ke Go Nature Ke Go Nature Reserve Reserve.
