International Cooperation

Vietnam established diplomatic ties with the European Union (EU) in October 1990. Since then, Vietnam has become one of the EU's main partners in the region, with the highest number of agreements of any country in Southeast Asia (including EVFTA and JETP).

On the morning of May 29th in Hanoi, the Vietnam Fund for Technical Innovation Support (VIFOTEC) organized the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between KIPA and VIFOTEC.

On the afternoon of May 31, 2024, the Center for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) in collaboration with the People's Committee of Phong Dien district organized a kickoff meeting for the project "Enhancing the involvement of local communities in Forest Protection in Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province”.

Selected from the award-winning projects in the 19th National Youth and Children's Creativity Contest in 2023, five scientific projects from Vietnam were showcased by the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations (VIFOTEC) at the 2024 International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX).

VUSTA Vice President Pham Ngoc Linh hosted a reception on the morning of April 10th for the European Union Delegation to Vietnam, led by Deputy Head of Cooperation, Jesús Laviña.

The qualifications of an individual working in the engineering field are generally divided into three levels worldwide: engineer, technologist, and technician, based on the level of education and training the individual has attained.

On December 26th, 2023, VUSTA Project (VUSTA - Global fund to fight HIV/AIDS project) held a summary conference for the period of 2021 – 2023 in Ha Noi

On March 15, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ca Mau province in collaboration with the Center for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) held a closing conference for the project "Mangrove and climate protection combined with income generation for vulnerable communities".

On the afternoon of November 10, 2023, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Judging Council of the first Smart Education Initiative Awards (SEI Awards) held a meeting to evaluate and score the categories.

On November 8, 2023, the World Engineers Summit 2023 (WES 2023) opened at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

VUSTA delegation led by Vice President Pham Ngoc Linh has visited Glink Vietnam.

In recent years, HIV/AIDS prevention and control efforts in Vietnam have achieved many significant accomplishments. To achieve these results, in addition to the involvement of the political system, there has been a significant contribution from social and community organizations.

At the closing session of Partnership for Green Growth and Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit in Bogota city, Colombia on September 23, 2023, Vietnam proposed 6 partnership cooperations to contribute to common global efforts.

On 26 July, in Hanoi VUSTA held a workshop on promoting the international cooperation activity in the VUSTA system.

The meeting was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 19 to 21 July and hosted by Engineering Institute of Thailand under His Majesty the King's Patronage.

Background

The Vice Chairman Pham Ngoc Linh attended and delivered a speech at 2023 Mid-term Conference of International Science Council (ISC) held on May 10th 2023 in Paris.

The Executive Board of the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria was particularly impressed and highly appreciated the achievements of Vietnam in its efforts to combat and control diseases, including the contributions of projects implemented by VUSTA

On May 4th in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Malaysian Institute of Engineers, Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Association, Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation (EVNHCMC) coordinated to organize a ceremony to honor and award certificates and badges of ASEAN professional engineers.

The Forum and Exhibition took place from April 13 to April 15, 2023 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center - SECC, 799 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan Phu, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
