Hue: 47 outstanding projects honored at the Youth and Children's Innovation Contest
On the morning of May 23, the Organizing Committee of the Hue City Youth and Children's Innovation Contest (the Contest) solemnly held the Closing and Award Ceremony for the 18th edition of the Contest, 2025.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Ho Thang, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee; former Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Me; and former Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Ngo Hoa; Representing the Organizing Committee were Dr. Ho Dac Thai Hoang, Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations and Head of the Contest Organizing Committee; Mr. Nguyen Vinh Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training; and Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Linh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hue City Youth Union. The event also welcomed representatives from local departments, agencies, and organizations; members of the judging panel; award-winning students and their mentors; as well as a large number of parents, relatives, and friends who gathered to celebrate and show their enthusiastic support.

The Hue City Youth and Children's Innovation Contest is an annual event organized by the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hue City. The contest aims to inspire creativity and unlock the innovative potential of young people and children across the city. It also encourages youth to engage in meaningful, socially beneficial activities while helping them enhance their knowledge, develop creative skills, and nurture dreams of becoming future inventors”.
Over the past 18 editions, the Hue City Youth and Children’s Innovation Contest has attracted thousands of entries from local grassroots, district, and town-level competitions. Among them, 1,778 outstanding projects were selected to compete at the city level. The contest has awarded 718 projects, with 42 earning national recognition and 3 achieving international accolades.
The Contest has increasingly affirmed its role as a meaningful and enriching platform for young innovators. It not only nurtures creativity and scientific curiosity among children and youth, but also introduces a more dynamic, practice-oriented approach to learning, where classroom knowledge is connected to real-world applications, research, and innovation. Through this process, students are gradually exposed to scientific thinking and working methods, paving the way toward becoming future researchers and inventors.
In 2025, the city-level competition brought together 187 carefully selected projects from 9 districts, towns, high schools, colleges, and clubs across the city. These projects competed in five key categories: Learning aids (43 projects); Information technology and software (24 projects); Environmentally friendly products (54 projects); Household tools and children’s toys (30 projects); and Technical solutions for environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and economic development (36 projects).
At the Closing and Award Ceremony of the 18th Hue City Youth and Children’s Innovation Contest in 2025, the Organizing Committee honored 47 outstanding projects with a range of awards, including 1 Grand Prize, 5 First Prizes, 7 Second Prizes, 10 Third Prizes, and 24 Consolation Prizes, recognizing the creativity and dedication of both individual and group participants. This year’s Grand Prize was awarded to the team of Vo Tran Minh Thu and Le Phuong Anh from Hai Ba Trung High School for their project titled "Designing and Digitizing Monuments and Artifacts to Preserve and Promote the Cultural Values of Champa for High School Students in Hue City”. To honor the invaluable contributions of the guiding teachers, the Organizing Committee also presented commemorative medals to those whose students' projects received awards. In addition, five collectives were commended and awarded certificates of merit for their exceptional performance in organizing and promoting the Contest, along with members of the judging panel who were also recognized for their dedication.

Immediately following the Closing and Award Ceremony, the Organizing Committee officially launched the 19th Hue City Youth and Children’s Innovation Contest for 2026. The Committee called for enthusiastic participation from young people and children across the city to foster a vibrant movement in scientific and technological innovation, encouraging creative thinking, continuous learning, and a spirit of dedication toward building a brighter future.
