VUSTA launches cooperative program to develop green agriculutre and circular economy
On April 18, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), in collaboration with the Vietnam Circular Agriculture Association and Que Lam Group, rolled out a Cooperation Plan for the 2025-2030 period.
At the conference, Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, President of VUSTA, stated that this was an extremely meaningful initiative by the three organizations to implement the Government’s Decree No. 109 on organic agriculture, Circular Economy Development Plan for Vietnam, and the Politburo’s Resolition 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
With its significant position, role, and responsibilty, VUSTA mobilize the country’s community of science and technology intellectuals to engage in scientific research, technology transfer, consultancy and evaluation, policy recommendations for law and policy formulation in general, and for policies related to rural agriculture, green economy, and circular economy in particular, thereby elevating rural agriculture, green economy, and circular economy to a new height.

President Phan Xuan Dung emphasized that the achievements of the Association and Que Lam Group are truly commendable, demonstrating valuable success factors such as fostering trust, unwavering dedication to farmers, market responsiveness, and a strong commitment to community values. He noted that circular agriculture represents an agricultural revolution, yet it is not without challenges, as it requires a shift in the production mindset among farmers, regulatory agencies, and agribusinesses.
Earlier, on March 11, VUSTA, the Vietnam Circular Agriculture Association, and Que Lam Group signed a cooperation program for the 2025-2030 period.

Representatives from the participating parties shared their perspectives during the event.
According to the Plan, the 2025-2030 scientific and technological cooperation program between VUSTA, the Vietnam Circular Agriculture Association, and Que Lam Group will focus on the following key areas:
Collaborate on communication efforts to enhance awareness among officials and members regarding the guidelines, policies, objectives, significance, and benefits of green agriculture and the circular economy in farming; develop organic input products using biotechnology to support green, efficient, sustainable, and eco-friendly agricultural production while adapting to climate change; promote the responsible and efficient reuse of organic by-products in production and daily life, reducing waste and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions to protect natural resources and the environment.
Collaborate on research, proposals, and the development of programs, projects, and initiatives related to green and circular economy value chains, as well as the transfer of scientific and technological advancements. Implement, establish, and scale up sustainable and circular production models; promote circular economic systems to address pressing environmental pollution challenges, enhance efficient and sustainable resource utilization, and develop recycled and renewable materials. Additionally, foster the development of integrated agricultural, organic, and circular economic linkages along the value chain.
Collaborate on organizing workshops, training sessions, and transferring green science and technology applications to production, with a focus on organic agriculture and the circular economy for members.
Collaborate on research and policy advisory regarding local implementation programs/plans; provide proposals and recommendations to help refine policies and legislation promoting organic agriculture and the circular economy.
Collaborate on exchanging lists of experts and scientists, inviting them to join appraisal councils for scientific and technological projects related to the green economy, circular economy, and the transfer of scientific and technological advancements.
Collaborate on organizing national and international events, including conferences, seminars, workshops, and forums in the agricultural sector, in line with each party's functions and responsibilities. Jointly conduct research, policy advisory, and critical reviews to best fulfill the political mandates of all involved parties.
Collaborate on sharing information, publications, materials, research findings, survey data, and communication efforts to support activities in organic agriculture and the circular economy.
