Looking back on the 30-year journey of the National Technical Innovation Contest

The year 2019 marked the 30-year journey of National Technical Innovation Contest (hereinafter reffered to as Contest), 1989 – 2019, with a total of 15 times (every 2 years) to be organized. The Contest has greatly contributed to promote the creative labor movement of the masses, create a new development in science and technology sector, and accelerate economic growth.

The Contest organized at 2 levels always receives the active participation of ministries, branches, provinces and cities.

Over 30 years of its development, it has been showing increased participation of people in the movement of technical innovation at nationwide. It also experienced an increasing number of technical solutions applying for the Contest.

Participants came from different sectors, from scientists, technicians to farmers, workers, they did propose practical solutions for addressing the issues of production and life and gained prizes.

Representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology awarded the first prize to the authors at the 15th Contest (2018 - 2019)

There have been 6,280 entries and nearly 1,000 solutions awarded. The winning solutions have been widely applied in production and life, solving practical requirements, bringing high socio-economic efficiency.

The winning solutions have received many noble awards such as: Certificate of Merit and bonus from the Organizing Committee. The authors who won high prizes were awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded Creative Labor Certificates to the winners who won first, second and third prizes. Young authors received the Certificate of Merit and Creative Youth Badge by the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union... These awards have made great honor and encouragement for scientists, creators, authors in the whole country.

Through 15 times of organizing, the Contest has achieved remarkable results. Thanks to the legal documents promulgated by the State, which have created favorable conditions for all levels and branches to implement the Contest.

Leaders at all levels are increasingly interested in research and application activities, as well as scientific and technological innovation activities and technical innovation movements. They also expressed their attention to the Contest by creating favourable conditions such as human resources, budget for promoting these activities.

The organization of the Contest at two levels (ministries, branches, localities and the whole country) has become professional that attracts a large number of scientists as well as masses of people participated in the Contest and highly appreciated by the society. This is a fair, transparent platform which timely encourages and honors for scientists, technologists and innovators in the country.

The representative of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor launched the 16th National Technical Innovation Contest (2020 - 2021)

The number of works competing at National Contest has increased significantly which were selected from thousands of applications from local level. Participants come from various institutions including scientists in universities and research institutes, engineers, technicians, technologist in factories and farmers and workers who even have achieved top high prizes.

The Contest not only magnetized a large number of participants but also drew quality solutions which have been widely applied in production and life to help bringing socio-economic efficiency to the country.

On the other hand, communication work was also paid much attention, organization-related issues including guiding, judging, awarding was conducted professionally thus motivating scientists and participants.
