Yen Bai: Finding solutions to maintain the quality of OCOP products in the province

On October 21, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Yen Bai province coordinated with the Provincial Farmers' Association to organize a seminar to consult and critique "Solutions to maintain the quality of OCOP products in the province in the coming time".

The workshop had the participation of departments, branches, mass organizations, enterprises in the province and leaders of Union of Science and Technology Associations of some neighboring provinces: Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho.

After more than 3 years of implementation, the Program, One Commune, One Product (OCOP Program) has initially achieved many important results. Up to now, the whole province has evaluated, classified and issued certificates for 147 OCOP products, ranking 4th out of 14 provinces in the Northern mountainous region in terms of the number of products that have been rated 3 stars or more.

However, in the implementation process of the program, many limitations remain: some policies in implementation still reveal shortcomings; some contents of implementing the OCOP cycle of many actors are still formal, lacking in connection with activities to improve the subject's capacity in production, product development and market expansion; the development and completion of the OCOP product profile takes a lot of time and money; Product design, origin of goods is limited.

At the workshop, the participants assessed and re-reviewed the current situation, the achieved results as well as the shortcomings and limitations in the implementation of the OCOP Program. The presentations also provided scientific and practical arguments on the current status of issues related to OCOP products: promoting the application of science and technology in production development, and orienting the development of OCOP product brands.; OCOP product development policies of the province; difficulties, problems, solutions for granting food safety certificates and announcing goods quality; Lessons learned from OCOP participants.

Yen Bai Provincial Union of Associations will synthesize and propose solutions to maintain the quality of OCOP products in the coming time, including: strengthening propaganda, raising people's awareness about OCOP products. the role of science and technology, application of technical advances in production; focus on assessing the potential and strengths of the locality, associating the development of OCOP products with the construction of raw material areas in the direction of biosecurity and organic production; promoting trade promotion activities, connecting supply - demand; promoting information technology application and argument transformation; continue to review and establish intellectual property rights for OCOP products; strengthen inspection, supervision, sampling, analysis and inspection of food safety and hygiene criteria for products after being recognized as OCOP, resolutely exclude products that are not eligible even though they are not eligible. OCOP accredited.
