On the morning of December 3, 2023, the Vietnam Physical Society in collaboration with the VNU University of Science organized the closing ceremony and awarding ceremony of the 25th National Student Physics Olympiad.
Sc.D. Phan Xuan Dung, President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations awarded the Certificate of Merit to collectives and individuals with the best performances in the contest
Attending the ceremony was Sc.D. Phan Xuan Dung - President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Assoc. Dr. Le Huy Hoang - Deputy Director General of the Education Department of the CPV Central Committee’s Publicity and Education Commission, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dai Hung - President of Vietnam Physical Society, Prof. Sc.D. Vu Hoang Linh, Rector of the VNU University of Sciences, along with all representatives of lecturers and students from universities to attend the 2023 contest.
The 25th National Physics Student Olympiad in 2023 had 42 delegations participating, comprising 251 students and nearly 100 teachers and lecturers who served as heads or deputies of the delegations from universities and academies nationwide. The event took place at the University of Sciences (Vietnam National University), from November 30 to December 3, 2023.
The participants in the competition went through three rigorous sections: multiple-choice questions, practical experiments, and problem-solving. The content of these sections mainly revolved around the fundamental physics curriculum taught at universities and colleges, focusing on practical applications in real-life scenarios.
During the competition, teachers and students actively participated in two current affairs seminars: an international seminar on semiconductor technology and a seminar on disseminating knowledge about teaching physics in schools. Through these seminars, educators and students gained a deeper understanding of and increased fondness for physics. They also acquired further insights into current and pressing issues happening both domestically and internationally in the field of semiconductor technology.
