On the afternoon of May 27th in Hanoi, the Vietnam Industry 4.0 Recognition Program - I4.0 Awards 2023 was organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) in coordination with the Vietnam Automation Association and the Institute of Innovation and Digital Transformation, under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Following the success of the first Vietnam Industry 4.0 Recognition Program in 2022, this year's I4.0 Awards aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of digital transformation and innovation in organizations and businesses, promoting digital transformation for localities and businesses to drive digital economic development.

Encouraging and honoring localities and businesses that participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and digital transformation process is essential.

This recognition highlights the development of manufacturing businesses, their ability to connect supply and demand for digital technology solutions, and their efforts in building and developing smart production. By promoting the application of information technology, digital technology, digital transformation, and innovation, it helps enhance the competitive capacity of localities and businesses in digital economic development.

It creates opportunities for exchange, learning, and sharing experiences in implementing the construction of smart factories, digital factories, smart production, research and development, innovation, and improving productivity and product quality, as well as enhancing business management capabilities. It fosters collaboration and connection among the scientific community, research institutes, universities, and businesses, providing support, consultation, training, technology transfer, and fostering digital economic development to achieve remarkable accomplishments.

President of VUSTA – Mr. Phan Xuân Dũng made a speech

In his opening speech, President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), Phan Xuân Dũng, shared: "Science and technology in the Fourth Industrial Revolution are developing rapidly and powerfully, bringing about profound changes in all aspects of life and social relations worldwide.

Therefore, businesses and state management agencies are pioneers and consider digital transformation as an essential trend to improve production and business efficiency, enhance competitiveness, and successfully implement strategies for building a digital government, a digital economy, and a digital society in the fourth industrial revolution. The activities to honor the Top Industry 4.0 aim to contribute to the strong and effective development in the national digital transformation process and bring about high efficiency in the economy."

The Top Industry 4.0 program in Vietnam received 180 applications from various entities according to the program structure. After the preliminary and final evaluation process, 65 businesses were selected and honored with 79 awarded digital products and solutions. Notable recipients include Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), Mobifone Corporation, Drilling Mud and Oilfield Services Joint Stock Company, and Thanh Cong Bien Hoa Company.

Of particular note is the enthusiastic participation of local authorities and government agencies, with 7 provinces/cities recognized by the organizing committee for their outstanding achievements in organizing and proactively implementing the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and the National Digital Transformation Program. These provinces/cities are Da Nang, Hai Phong, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, and Ben Tre City, Ben Tre Province.

The I4.0 Awards evaluate and honor based on the following criteria:

Top Industry 4.0 Businesses: The main criteria include automation, optimized production process control, digital transformation for business development, application of artificial intelligence and new technologies for intelligent business operations, and effectiveness of growth.

Top Research and Development (R&D) and Innovation Organizations/Enterprises: The criteria include the application of scientific and technological advancements in business operations, investment strategy in R&D and digital transformation, investment in R&D and innovation, achievements in R&D application, leadership in Industry 4.0 and digital transformation.

Top Intelligent Digital Products and Industry 4.0 Technological Solutions: The evaluation criteria include product and digital solution assessment, promotion and market development strategies, enterprise management model and environment, human resource development plan, and overall evaluation and development strategy for the product or solution.

Top Exemplary Organizations/Localities Proactively Implementing the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Digital Transformation: The criteria include the application of digital technology and automation in production processes, innovative management and business models.
