Launching a campaign to make the world cleaner

On the morning of October 10, 2023, at Ninh Thuan Vocational College, the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) collaborated with the Provincial Youth Union, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and Ninh Thuan Vocational College to organize a Rally to support the Campaign to make the world cleaner in 2023.

Participating in the program were VicePresidentof VUSTA Pham Quang Thao; representatives from the leadership of the Provincial Youth Union, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Provincial Youth Union, and more than 500 Youth Union members, students, and pupils in the province.

In his opening speech, Vice President of VUSTA Pham Quang Thao emphasized: With its role and mission, the Vietnam Youth Union will directly lead and gather pioneering member organizations to collaborate with the government in the campaign against plastic waste.

The "Campaign to Make the World Cleaner" event will mark a significant starting point for a series of activities aimed at fostering a culture of civilized waste disposal among the population, especially students, and promoting the discovery of solutions to minimize and recycle waste, particularly plastic waste. This step-by-step process is aimed at building a circular economy for Vietnam. Only through these efforts can waste management be truly effective in moving towards the goal of a "World without waste," stated Vice Chairman Pham Quang Thao.

Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union in Ninh Thuan, Le Kim Hung, gave a speech during the Rally to support the "Campaign to Make the World Cleaner" in 2023. On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, Comrade Ta Yen Thi Lam Hoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, called on youth union levels, members, and young people across the province to actively engage in environmental protection, natural resource conservation, and climate change adaptation through small actions such as waste sorting, recycling, and reuse, as well as promoting efficient use of resources and fuels. They are encouraged to participate in environmental sanitation activities within organizations, on the streets, and at home, plant more trees, and spread awareness to mobilize everyone in their families, organizations, and communities to be environmentally conscious.

Right after the Rally event, the Organizing Committee and participants, youth union members, young people, students, and pupils from Ninh Thuan Vocational College initiated a comprehensive environmental cleanup within the school campus.
