The Phong Dien natural reserve meets all project’s setforth criteria of the reforestation site specifically sharing ecosystem area with Bac Huong Hoa nature reserve and the severe agent orange affected area with more than 3,000 ha bare lands that need restoring by utilizing native tree species and shrubs, and being special use forest that enables the long term exist and development of forest restoration. In addition, the reforestation taking native tree species is expected to increase forest coverage, biodiversity conservation, and soil erosion control.
