Vifotec Foundation celebrates its 30th Anniversary and received the First-Class Labor Medal
On the evening of October 27 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held the event.
The celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Innovation Support Fund (1992-2022) and the closing ceremony and awarding of the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award, the WIPO Award in 2021 (Vifotec).

Making speech at the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman – Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue stated: To strive to achieve the goal of turning our country into a developed, socialist-oriented country in the middle of the twenty-first century, as set out by the XIII Congress Document, our Party has identified and promoted the endogenous strength and mode of national development in the new context; in which, scientific and technological knowledge and innovation are endogenous factors, especially important motivation. In order to further arouse the passion for research, creativity, and promote the development of science and technology in the country, I suggest that you pay attention to the following issues:
Firstly, focus on improving the quality and prestige of the Awards, Contests and Competitions; continue to focus on projects and solutions in the fields of science and technology with high applicability; a number of interdisciplinary fields between natural science and engineering science and technology; fields: mechanical automation, material technology, information technology, electronics and telecommunications; biology for production and life; technologies to respond to climate change, protect the environment and rationally use resources; save energy and use new energy. Thereby, for science and technology to truly become a direct productive force; At the same time, the Awards, Contests and Contests are really associated with achievements, results and achievements of scientific and technological products.
Secondly, science and technology development are the cause of the entire Party and people, in which cadres and party members must pioneer and set a good example of "dare to think, dare to do, dare to break through" because general career; intellectuals and entrepreneurs play a pivotal role in labor and creativity; promote the role of the subject and great creativity of the People. Therefore, it is necessary for the cooperation of localities across the country to develop science and technology. Localities need to set out policies to encourage talent through the organization of Awards, Competitions, Competitions by the Vifotec Foundation as a standing agency; from there, discover individuals with talents to foster, valuable topics and solutions to apply in real life; associated with the start-up and innovation movement, contributing to the development of local science and technology and contributing to the general movement of the whole country.
Thirdly, in order for the Fund to continue to have many worthy rewards for scientists, researchers, creators and inventors, it is necessary to have a mechanism, especially in terms of finance, that is more suitable for the Fund. The Vifotec Foundation is requested to coordinate with relevant ministries, branches, agencies and organizations to perfect the financial mechanism, develop preferential policies for creative talents, supporting the nurturing of talents so that the movement can achieve national and international scientific and technological achievements.
At the same time, the Vifotec Foundation needs to build a synchronous and professional communication system in order to propagate so that the whole society can understand and participate in intellectual honoring activities; popularize the award-winning works to come to life fastest; support innovators in promoting products abroad, scientific and technological cooperation with countries with developed science and technology background. The organization recognizes and honors the contributions of scientists and inventors who have made great contributions to the country's socio-economic development in the process of international economic integration.

President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Chairman of Vifotec Foundation – Mr. Phan Xuan Dung, Head of the organizing committee of the evaluation award, experienced 27 times (1995 - 2022), The Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award has attracted the active participation of a large number of scientists and innovators throughout the country. Many award-winning works have been applied in production, bringing high socio-economic efficiency, contributing to promoting production of enterprises, improving productivity, quality, lowering product costs, to replace imports and create technology markets for life - society and security - defense. There were about 3,000 projects participating and nearly 1,000 winning works.

In 2021, 115 works presented in the award in 6 priority fields of science and technology, including: Mechanics - automation (17 works); material technology (15 works); information technology, electronics and telecommunications (21 works); biology for production and life (35 works); technologies to respond to climate change, protect the environment and rationally use resources (18 works); technology to save energy and use new energy (9 works). The Organizing Committee of the Awards held a meeting and decided to award 45 works including: 4 first prizes, 8 second prizes, 14 third prizes and 19 consolation prizes.

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) awarded certificates and Gold Medals to 2 works: Projects: “Technology, products, technical solutions, establishment measures to protect the banks of Hoan Kiem Lake " by Dr. Hoang Duc Thao (Vietnam Science and Technology Joint Stock Company, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) and the project: "Application of concrete hopper technology (Top-Base) in reinforcing soft soil in Vietnam" of Hotel Pham Thanh Cong and associates (GFS Group).
The Prime Minister awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 authors who are the directors and co-chairs of 2 works that won the first prize of the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2021.
The organizers also rewarded 10 units and 14 individuals with outstanding achievements in the propagation and dissemination of the award.
