Yen Bai: Concluding the project “Supporting ethnic minority youth to implement start-up projects and social initiatives”
On June 29th, Yen Bai Center for Science and Technology Development and Community Healthcare held a workshop to conclude the 18-month project “Supporting ethnic minority youth to implement start-up projects and social initiatives”.

The project is a part of second component within the framework of the master project “Capacity building for mass organizations, social organizations and ethnic minority youth to actively participate in start-up course and socio-economic decision making in Yen Bai province, Vietnam” sponsored by the European Union and Save the Children International. 18 months into the implementation, the project supported the youth to deploy 2 social initiatives, 6 start-up initiatives such as raising reproductive goats and farm goats; raising stuffed snails and snail varieties; growing ardisia silvestris trees beneath the shadow of production forest; building incubator of ardisia silvestris trees, and qualified cinnamon varieties... The results achieved are all in line with the goal of improving active participation of young people; empowering and promoting initiatives of the youth in economic management and poverty reduction through the implementation of sub-projects, initiatives in production, business and services in 9 communes in Tran Yen district.

At the event, participants discussed and shared achievements and experience, listened to contributions of project management unit, local authorities and young people; and at the same time, exchanged, analyzed and evaluated strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, challenges to come up with solutions on maintenance, development and replication of initiatives of young people in the coming time.
