On July 1, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly led the delegation to visit and work with VUSTA. The delegation í composed of Mr. Le Quang Huy, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Science, Technology and Environment Committee of the National Assembly; Mr. Ngo Sach Thuc, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and representatives of committees and the Ethnicity Council of the National Assembly.

Speaking at the event, President of VUSTA Phan Xuan Dung said that the VUSTA has been concerned and led by the Party, the State and Vietnam Fatherland Front, received the coordination and support of the Party Central Committees, Ministries, branches and local authorities over the years. In addition, VUSTA always receives the attention and direction of the Leaders of the National Assembly, the coordination of Committees and the Ethnicity Council of the National Assembly. Leaders of the National Assembly have directed and created favorable conditions for VUSTA to coordinate with professional committees of the National Assembly which resulted in signed cooperation agreements between VUSTA and the Science, Technology and Environment Committee, the Ethnicity Council in 2021.

The President of VUSTA Phan Xuan Dung also shared that the National Assembly's Leaders listened to the opinions of scientists and suggestions to important law projects serving the supervision and law-making work. VUSTA has been facilitated to organize or co-organize alongside other agencies of the National Assembly many independent seminars.

According to the report on the results of coordination between the National Assembly's agencies and VUSTA, in recent years, VUSTA has well performed the role and function of gathering, uniting and promoting the creativeness of scientific and technological intellectuals, typically, coordinating with the Science, Technology and Environment Committee in organizing a seminar themed "Implementation of policies and laws on research, development, technology transfer, production of drugs for Covid-19 treatment and treatment support (including traditional medicines), medical equipment and biological products; the role of technology and scientific data in formulating and implementing measures to prevent, combat and adapt to epidemics; organizing the seminar themed "Implementation of policies and laws on planning since the Law on Planning taking effect". VUSTA also held the seminar on "Land policy for ethnic minorities in Vietnam - Shortcomings, limitations and recommendations" to provide more scientific foundations for the Ethnicity Council to participate in the verification of the Land Law project (amended), etc. The coordination programs between the Science, Technology and Environment Committee, the Ethnicity Council, the Institute of Legislative Studies and VUSTA are an important prerequisite for VUSTA to create more opportunities and conditions for collecting information on the law-making process. The seminars, conferences and discussions organized in collaboration with many agencies of the National Assembly have made an important contribution for VUSTA to perform more and more effectively the tasks of consultancy and social evaluation.

Also at the meeting, delegates agreed that over the years, agencies of the National Assembly and VUSTA have implemented many effective and useful coordination activities, especially the cooperation of VUSTA with the Science, Technology and Environment Committee to organize the seminar titled "Implementation of policies and laws on planning, since the Law on Planning taking effect" last March.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly - Nguyen Duc Hai affirmed that, 40 years in building and development, VUSTA has become a strong socio-political organization with 154 member associations, including 91 national industry associations and 63 provincial/municipal unions of associations, hundreds of scientific research, technological development and training units. "Many organizations, scientists and intellectuals have made great efforts in the activities of the National Assembly and its agencies, contributing to the success of working sessions," emphasized the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly. He also appreciated the effectiveness and usefulness of the coordination between a number of agencies of the National Assembly and VUSTA during the past time, especially the seminar on "Implementation of policies and laws on planning, since the Law on Planning taking effect", as well as the Vietnam Economic Forum in 2021 with the theme "Restoration and Sustainable Development". Vice Chairman of the National Assembly - Nguyen Duc Hai welcomed the Supervisory Delegation and agencies of the National Assembly for coordinating with VUSTA in acting as a bridge to gather a large number of dedicated and responsible experts and scientists to the Party and State, suggested many profound, objective and scientific opinions directly contributing to the first supreme supervision project of the 15th National Assembly.

In the coming time, the National Assembly and its agencies will be assigned many challenging and complicating tasks with many specialized and highly technical contents, which will have great impacts on socio-economic life. In the legislative orientation of the 15th National Assembly tenure, which was approved at the beginning of the tenure, there are many important legislative tasks related to science and technology; many issues related to science and technology are concerned by the National Assembly's members and voters, as well as special supervision projects of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Land Law project (amended), the Law project on Implementation of Democracy at the grassroots, the Law project on Cooperatives (amended). The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed that this would create more space for agencies of the National Assembly and VUSTA to coordinate effectively to participate in the planning and implementation of guidelines of the Party, as well as policies and laws of the State.
