VUSTA President Phan Xuan Dung Attends National Conference on Mechanics
The Institute of Mechanics, in collaboration with the Institute of Physics and the Vietnam Association of Mechanics, organized the National Conference on Mechanics on April 9th in Hanoi, to celebrate its 45th anniversary.
The National Conference on Mechanics takes place every five years, serving as a forum for the individuals who conduct mechanics research and apply it to engineering and technology to exchange ideas, discuss findings, and present research results and practical applications in the field of mechanics. Especially, through the conference, high-quality reported articles are selected and rigorously peer-reviewed before being published in prestigious ISI journals.
VUSTA President Phan Xuan Dung speaks at the conference
At the conference, 7 subcommittees presented scientific reports focusing on the following areas: History of Mechanics; Computational Mechanics; Nonlinear Dynamics, Chaos, and Stochastic Systems; Dynamics and Control of Multibody Systems; Identification of Mechanical Systems, Technical Diagnostics, and Experiments; Solid Mechanics; Mechanics of Composite Materials and Structures; River and Sea Dynamics; Industrial and Environmental Fluid Mechanics; Nano/Micro-Mechanics, Multiscale; Mechatronics; Mechanics of Machinery and Robot; Soil and Rock Mechanics; Computational Physics, Simulation, and Modeling.
In his address at the conference, Sc.D. Phan Xuan Dung congratulated the Institute of Mechanics on its 45th anniversary and wished for the conference's success. The President highly praised the scientific and technological achievements of the Institute in recent years. He emphasized that the Institute of Mechanics is one of the units with extensive activities, and its contributions have served the nation's construction, development, and international integration efforts, affirming the role of the scientific and technological intellectual workforce within the VUSTA system. The conference provided clarification of the characteristics of the 4.0 industrial revolution and the related mechanical issues, identifying the features of modern mechanics, research directions, application deployment, and manpower training for the mechanical industry to serve the revolution in Vietnam.
VUSTA President Phan Xuan Dung and Chairman of Vietnam Association of Mechanics Nguyen Tien Khiem awards the Nguyen Van Dao Young Mechanics Talent Award to 2 authors
Within the framework of the conference, Sc.D Phan Xuan Dung and Prof. Sc.D. Nguyen Tien Khiem awarded the Nguyen Van Dao Young Mechanics Talent Award to 2 authors under 40 with outstanding internationally recognized results.
The award is named after Professor and Academic Nguyen Van Dao, a prominent Vietnamese mechanic. He was the first President of the Vietnam Association of Mechanics and the first Director of Hanoi National University. After his passing, the Association established the Nguyen Van Dao Fund to reward talented young mechanics who have made outstanding contributions to scientific research. It has since become the most prestigious and reputable award in the field of Mechanics today.
