Diverse activities to be held at CAFEO38

The 38th conference of ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisation (CAFEO38) will be held tomorrow in Ha Noi.

The annual CAFEO, organised by the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO), will be chaired by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA).

Speaking at a press conference held in Ha Noi on Monday, Nghiem Vu Khai, VUSTA’s vice chairman cum head of CAFEO’s organising board, said CAFEO38 aimed to affirm AFEO’s commitment to implement the ASEAN Vision 2025 with the UN Agenda 2030 on sustainable development. It will initiate high-quality technical co-operation programmes to promote the use of technology to build a connected, equal and prosperous ASEAN community.

CAFEO 38 will have different topics on transport considering the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic to the ASEAN transport and logistics sectors.

VUSTA and AFEO’s members will establish co-operation among governments, businesses and organisations of ASEAN engineers. It will also facilitate the shifting of technical workers and engineer training, especially female and young engineers.

In addition, the conference will adopt the promotion of a people-centred digital transformation to respond to climate change, diseases and natural disasters; constantly innovating and developing advanced technical solutions, building a strong digital foundation to build sustainable, adaptable, and highly cohesive supply chains, thereby promoting trade, investment and economic development during and after the COVID-19 period.

With the role of AFEO’c chairman and chairing the CAFEO38, Government leaders will attend the opening session.
