Message from Secretary-General, Board of Engineers, Cambodia (BEC)

To fellow engineer members of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organization (AFEO) and distinguished guests of AFEO.

On behalf of the Board of Engineers, Cambodia (BEC), I would like to congratulate the VIETNAM Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA) for hosting 38th Conference ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organization (CAFEO 38) which will be held via Zoom Meeting from the 18th to 26th November 2020 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Concurrently, I would like to extend my warmest regards to engineers and distinguished guests of the AFEO attending the Meeting.

CAFEO 38 will provide an opportunity for engineers to develop sustainably under the theme of “ FOSTERING INITIATIVE AND

ACTION BY AFEO TO BUILD A SUSTAINABLE AND PROSPEROUS ASEAN COMMUNITY ”. This theme focuses on the ASEAN Community Initiative, which aligns with the vision moving towards the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025.

We, engineers, applaud the vibrant mission of contributing to the nation building of the people of each ASEAN Member countries as well as the whole of ASEAN for the better future. I passionately believe that close cooperation among AFEO members and ASEAN Economically integrated countries is the key to future prosperity and success for countries in the region. CAFEO will serve and help drive the rapid growth of the integration and mobility of engineers in the region. I convinced that the abundance of knowledge, and well qualified engineers are a beacon for building and developing each country sustainability.

CAFEO provides the perfect jurisdiction and the best opportunity for cooperative relations among our organizations or engineering bodies which are members of AFEO. Currently, the world is threatened by a deadly epidemic (Covid-19) causing ASEAN countries temporarily close their borders. However, we still strive to overcome these obstacles. Even though, we cannot meet face to face, we can meet through Zoom to continue to move forward and success.

Once again, BEC would like to express its sincere wishes and hopes for further progress in this CAFEO-38.

Good luck and have fun together with CAFEO – 38!
